Diligent sail care and maintenance will insure that your sails lasts as long as possible.

At SO31 Sailmakers we recommend that your sails be inspected and serviced once a year. Sails need regular attention, whether to restitch sacrificial UV strips degraded by the sun, repair mainsail batten pocket chafe, correct an unfortunate encounter with a fixed object, or anything else in need of improvement. The sooner any chafe, mildew, or other problems are detected, the easier it is to take care of them. We can check all stitching and hardware to ensure that your sails will remain trouble free.

SO31 Sailmakers offers the most extensive sail maintenance and repair services available. Our staff are trained to identify common sail problems before they turn into expensive and inconvenient disasters, and like with most things on a boat.

When repairs are needed, the experienced sail makers at SO31 evaluate each job by examining the extent of the damage, the anticipated lifespan of the sail, and the future plans of the sailor, to make the most appropriate service recommendations and estimates before proceeding. Personal, professional service ensures customers know what they're paying for, and what they're getting, every time.

For winter storage, your sails should be stored dry and free of salt. They should be folded without any wrinkles and kept at room temperature
